As an Applications Engineer, you will be the technical bridge between customers and product teams for automation, power, and robotics solutions. You’ll work on a variety of equipment depending on your skillsets such as: architect drive and motion systems, sizing of thermal and power components, and commissioning, partnering closely with Sales, Controls/Software, and Field Service to deliver right‑first‑time outcomes.
The Opportunity:
- Own pre‑/post‑sales applications support for AC drives/VFDs, servos, PLC/HMI/SCADA, and robotics integration.
- Model loads, select components, and validate thermal/power budgets (transformers, rectifiers, battery systems)
- Develop POCs, FAT/SAT test plans, and commissioning checklists; support onsite startup
- Create wiring diagrams, I/O maps, and functional descriptions; collaborate on safety and compliance
- Troubleshoot performance issues (harmonics, thermal derating, EMI/EMC, tuning) and implement corrective actions
- Translate customer needs into requirements; relay field feedback to product and engineering teams
- Deliver training to customers, reps, and internal teams
Skills/Experience Required:
- BS in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Controls, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Hands‑on experience with several of the following: VFDs/AC drives, servo motion, PLC/HMI/SCADA, and robotics like: Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Kuka, ABB, Yaskawa etc.
- Ability to read/create/recreate schematics and panel layouts;
- Strong customer‑facing communication, project scoping, and documentation discipline
