Software Team Lead / CTO

Our clientis seeking an intelligent and highly-motivated software team lead to work in an intellectually stimulating, fast-paced, startup environment. They need a lead architect to be responsible for managing a software development team as well as the overall software infrastructure of the firm. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, Code, Lead, Mentor 

Qualifications:

• Strong design skills

• Proven ability to manage teams of developers

• Ability to react efficiently to short deadlines

• Comfortable learning new languages and environments

• Experience taking ownership of mission-critical systems

• Understanding of statistics and computational finance (or at least an interest)

• Enthusiasm for technology and automation

• Desire to help colleagues

• Ability to listen to team members with understand their technical goals

• Ability to evaluate 3rd party software

• Desire to be hands on with code review as well as with personal coding projects

• Willingness to work with and learn technologies such as: C#, SQL, Excel/VBA, F#, LISP, STATA, MATLAB, R, Python, Perl (the use of other tools is encouraged as well)

• Strong aptitude for problem-solving and idea-generation

• Interest in a broad range of development and technical areas

• Comfortable asking questions and challenging ideas in an open forum

• Detail-oriented

• Intellectually curious – eager to learn and acquire new skills, both technically and otherwise

• Ability to multi-task; flexibility in managing both simple tasks and highly complex problems

• Proven track record of building value-adding programs from the ground up
