Job Overview:

 

This job is a rare find.  As many companies are hiring fewer experienced writers or contractors, our client company wants to invest in hiring a seasoned marketing writer for this permanent, strategically important role.  This a significant job with a lot of visibility to the company’s top notch executive team.  In particular, you will work closely with the company’s CMO who is well-respected and known as a great people manager.  Here are some key responsibilities that you will do if you join the team.

  • You are a true thought leader that will be responsible for helping bring this company’s voice to life through compelling storytelling
  • You enjoy conceptualizing, writing, and editing content that engages and informs customers about the company’s products and values
  • You will interview customers and/or internal executives and domain experts and ghostwrite compelling business stories such as executive briefs, bylines, and blogs
  • You will work with a blog editor on individual campaigns helping to support authors through various levels of activity – ghostwriting to light editing and everything in between
  • You are a creative thinker – someone with the ability to generate original ideas in collaboration with executives, marketing managers, product managers
  • You should be experienced in writing executive-level articles – both short (blog) and long form
  • You thrive on being creative as well as detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
  • You take pride in knowing that your work has a real impact on the company’s worldwide messaging producing high quality, engaging content, while maintaining a consistent voice and tone for the brand across multiple channels

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or English
  • 7+ years’ experience as copywriter for print and digital channels
  • Experience positioning, marketing, and copywriting for B2B software solutions
  • Proven experience and comfort level in interviewing executives and ghostwriting blogs, papers, and other content on their behalf
  • Ability to translate technical or complex ideas into concise, business-oriented content
  • Effectively edit and rewrite content written by others to ensure compelling and concise messaging
  • Experience creating and editing copy for SEO optimization
  • Strong attention to detail with a command of spelling, grammar, and punctuation as well as working knowledge of style guidelines (i.e., AP Style Guide)
  • Experience working with and implementing a new branded voice and tone
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and proactively prioritize
  • Experience with language translation procedures helpful
