Data Engineer

REMOTE, Newton, MA · Job # 8772BK

Job Overview:

This is a very hands-on role that requires a “triple threat” of skills: engineering, data wrangling, and good old-fashioned customer charm for engaging both technical and clinical staff at hospitals.

You are interested in working in the HEALTHCARE vertical or are already in this domain. You want to work with a software platform that uses ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE to anticipate and direct actions, enabling health systems to achieve and sustain peak operational performance. The software improves patient access, care delivery and staff productivity. It is a cloud-based software platform combining AI, workflow automation and communication technology in an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface to deliver optimized surgical resource alignment, patient flow, and staff scheduling capabilities.

You are a Data Engineer who wants to build, connect, and maintain data integrations.

This is what you will do:

  • Manage, write, and maintain hospital data ingestion queries and configuration in a custom system
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers on continually improving the data ingestion pipeline for performance, scale, and reliability
  • Work closely with hospital stakeholders and partners to obtain necessary data extracts and ensure timely integrations
  • Manage data warehouse fidelity, ensuring stakeholders trust the data and understand both its opportunities and limitations
  • Ensure client data feeds remain operational and error-free
  • Maintain the company's data specification and customer-specific glossaries
  • Assist sales team with pre-sales technical requirements and phased onboarding plans

We would like you to have:

  • 2+ years SQL expertise
  • Experience with Python or similar programming language
  • Ability to perform data analysis using tools such as Excel or Stata
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in healthcare industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hospital data protocols such as HL7 and FHIR
